Russia to double the amount of oil received from Kazakhstan

Rusya, Kazakistan'la Hazar Petrol Boruhattı Konsorsiyumu (CPC) aracılığı ile aldığı petrolü 2012 yılından itibaren iki katına çıkarılması konusunda anlaştı. Buna göre yeni kapasite 32 milyon tondan, 67 milyon tona çıkarılacak. Rusya'nın aldığı ek petrol Bulgaristan üzerinden Avrupa'ya doğrudan ulaşımı sağlayacak yeni petrol boru hattı Burgas-Alexandroupolis ile sevk edilecek.

Russia has agreed with Kazakhstan through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) to double the amount of oil received from Kazakhstan starting in 2012. In accordance with this the new capacity extracted will go from 32 million tons to 67 million tons. The additional oil received by Russia will be sent through a new Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline, through Bulgaria directly to Europe.

Rusya'da bir taraftan yeni başkan Dmitri Medvedev yemin ederek Kremlin'deki görevine resmen başlarken, diğer taraftan enerji ile ilgili anlaşmalar hız kesmedi. Medvedev'in iktidarının ilk gününde Kazakistan'a giden Enerji Bakanı Viktor Khristenko Kazak meslektaşı ile ilgili anlaşmayı imzaladı. Khristenko konu ile ilgili yaptığı açıklamada, "Hazar petrol boru hattı ile aldığımız petrol aşamalı olarak iki katına çıkarılacak. 2012 yılına kadar iki aşamalı genişleme planladık. Yeni kapasite 32 milyon tondan 67 milyon tona ulaşmış olacak." dedi.

While Russia's new president Dmitri Medvedev was being officially sworn in to his duties at the Kremlin, on the other hand energy-related agreements did not let up speed. In the second day of Medvedev's government the energy minister Viktor Khristenko had gone to Kazakhstan where he signed an agreement with his Kazakh colleagues. Regarding the subject, Khristenko said that "The oil we get from the Caspian oil pipeline will be doubled in two stages. We've laid out a two-stage expansion by 2012. The new capacity will go from 32 million tons to 67 million tons."

İmzalanan anlaşmaya göre Kazakistan'dan alınan petrolün 17 milyon tonu Burgas-Alexandroupolis petrol boru hattı ile Avrupa'ya doğrudan verilecek. Trans-Balkan olarak bilinen petrol boru hattı Rusya, Bulgaristan ve Yunanistan arasında inşa ediliyor. İstanbul ve Çanakkale boğazlarından geçen Rus petrol tankerlerinin sayısını azaltacak yeni hattın kapasitesi 35 milyon ton olacak. Hattın aşamalı olarak 50 milyon tona çıkarılması hedefleniyor.

According to the signed agreement, 17 million tons of the petrol from Kazakhstan will be sent straight to Europe through the Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline. This trans-Balkan oil pipeline is being constructed by Russia, Bulgaria and Greece. The new pipeline will have a capacity of 35 million tons, and will reduce the number of Russian oil tankers that pass through the strait in between Istanbul and Çanakkale. The pipeline is aiming to bring out 50 million tons.

Hazar Petrol Konsorsiyumu Kazak petrollerinin Rusya'ya ulaşımını sağlamak için 2001 yılında organize edilmişti. Hattın şu anki kapasitesi 30 milyon ton civarında. Rusya'nın petrol boru hattı operatörü Transneft CPC'nin yüzde 24'üne sahip olurken, Kazakistan da yüzde 19'unu elinde bulunduruyor.

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium was organized in 2001 to provide Kazakh oil to Russia. At the moment its capacity is around 30 million tons. Russia's oil pipeline operator Transneft owns 24 percent of CPC, and Kazakhstan has 19 percent.
