Azerbaijan given permission to build nuclear reactor near Baku

Uluslararası Atom Enerjisi Kurumu, Azerbaycan’a 2011 yılından sonra nükleer reaktör yapımı için izin çıkardı.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has given permission to Azerbaijan for the construction of a nuclear reaction after 2011.

BAKÜ - Konuya ilişkin açıklamada bulunan Azerbaycan Radyasyon Sorunları Enstitüsü Başkanı Adil Garibov, söz konusu reaktörün bilimsel amaçlarla kullanılacağına dikkat çekerek, ‘Başkent Bakü yakınlarındaki Hırdalan kenti ile Perikuşkul kasabası arasındaki arazide inşa edilecek reaktörün yapımında Uluslararası Atom enerjisi Kurumu uzmanları katılacak’ diye konuştu.

Baku - Adil Garibov, the head of the Azerbaijan Radiation Issues Institute gave an explanation on the subject saying that the reactor in question would be used for scientific purposes, and that "the construction of the reactor to be built in the territory between the city of Hirdalan and the town of Perikuskul close to the capital Baku will have the participation of specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency."

20-30 MegaWat gücüne sahip nükleer santralin Rusya, Kanada ve ya ABD’den satın alınabileceğini ifade eden Enstitü Başkanı, burada daha çok tıbbi amaçlı deneylerin yapılacağını söyledi.

The head of the institute said that the nuclear centre with a power of 20-30 megawatts could be purchased from Russia, Canada or the United States, said that more medical tests would be carried out here.

Nükleer santral yapım perspektiflerini de değerlendiren Adil Garibov, bu projenin 20 yıl içinde hükumet desteği ile gerçekleşebileceğini vurgulayarak, ‘Nükleer santralde çalışacak kadroyu önce reaktör çalışmalarında yetiştirmemiz lazım’ diye konuştu.

Adil Garibov, giving some perspectives on the construction of the nuclear centre, noted that it would come to the fore through 20 years of government support, and that "before looking at the working staff at the nuclear centre we need to have the reactor up and running."
