Newsweek to launch Turkish language edition in the fall
Friday, June 06, 2008
This is going to be their eighth non-English version, and should have a subscription of 50,000. I might subscribe as well.
I had a bit of déjà vu reading this, and this is why:
"We are delighted to be joining with Ciner to launch a high-quality newsmagazine for today's Turkish audience," Ascheim said. "We welcome the opportunity to expand our foreign-language editions into Turkey. We are excited that the launch of Newsweek Turkey is now getting close to reality." The launch was originally scheduled for 2007, but was delayed.and some more info on the other language editions:
Circulation is expected to be 50.000, and will be distributed throughout Turkey...
Newsweek publishes three English-language international editions (Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia and Latin America) and now has seven foreign- language editions under license. Newsweek is the only American newsweekly to publish foreign-language editions with an approximate aggregate circulation of 600,000.
