Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan to create joint Persian/Farsi tv station

Just in case you missed it, there was an announcement last week on this, only a few lines:

Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan have launched a joint Farsi-language TV station, according to Medianews.ir. The station’s headquarters is based in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.

The channel will begin broadcasting August 8, in conjunction with a joint summit of the leaders of Farsi-speaking countries. Farsi (Persian) is the official language of Iran and Tajikistan (Tajik) and is widely spoken in Afghanistan (Dari).

به گزارش ایسنا، در پایان نخستین دیدار گروه کاری ایجاد شبکه تلویزیونی مشترک فارسی زبان که روز گذشته در تاجیکستان برگزار شد سایموراد فتایف مشاور دولتی رئیس جمهور تاجیکستان در امور توسعه اجتماعی و روابط عمومی، علی اصغر شیردوست سفیر ایران در تاجیکستان و نادر احمدی معاون رئیس دولتی رادیوی افغانستان حضور داشتند.
