The Kurdish administration has opened a Turkish language department in university.

Irak'ın kuzeyindeki bölgesel Kürt yönetimi, Türkiye ile ilişkileri daha iyi geliştirmek adına Erbil'de bulunan Selahaddin Üniversitesi bünyesinde Türkçe dili bölümünü açarak jest yaptı.

The regional Kurdish administration in the north of Iraq has made a gesture in order to develop relations with Turkey by opening a Turkish language department in Salahaddin University in Arbil.

Bölümün başkanlığına Türkiye'den Yrd. Doç. Dr. Ramazan Çakır getirildi. Bölümde ikisi Türk ve Türkiye'de eğitim görmüş üçü yerel toplam 6 öğretim görevlisi eğitim verecek.

The department head will be Assistant Professor Dr. Ramazan Çakır from Turkey. A total of six will be employed in the department to teach, with two who are Turkish and three from the region who have studied in Turkey.

2008 - 2009 eğitim öğretim döneminde faaliyet göstermeye başlayacak olan Türk Dili Bölümü'nün, bölge ile Türkiye arasında diyalog köprüsü görevini de üslenmesi bekleniyor.

The Turkish Language Department, to begin activity in the 2008-2009 academic period, is also expected to provide a bridge for dialogue between the region and Turkey.
