Iran ready for talks with the United States / İran, ABD ile görüşmeye hazır

The largest determiner of what will happen between the two countries is the election today and the one in Iran in June. Things are politically pretty chaotic over there at the moment with the interior minister being sacked today for forging a degree and attempting to bribe his way out of it. (note to self: pay more attention to Iranian politics in the future; looks very entertaining) Hopefully in spite of all the chaos at the moment and the transition to a new government, the two nations will be able to keep up low-level talks for when things calm down.

Iran ready for talks with the United States

İran, ABD ile ''adil ve eşit'' şartlarda doğrudan müzakereye hazır olduğunu bildirdi.
Iran has said that it is ready for face to face talks with the United States on the condition that they are "just and equal".

Cumhurbaşkanı Mahmud Ahmedinejad'ın basın danışmanı Mehdi Kalhor, Washington yönetimiyle aracısız müzakerelere başlanabileceğini söyledi.

Mehdi Kalhor, the press agent for president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said that direct talks with the Washington administration could begin.

Amerikalı yetkililerin zaman zaman İran'la diyalog kurulması yönünde açıklamalarda bulunduğunu hatırlatan Kalhor, ''İran-ABD ilişkileri, ancak adil ve eşit şartlarda mümkün olur'' ifadesini kullandı.

Kalhor reminded that American officials made statements from time to time on setting up talks with Iran, saying that "Iran-US relations are only possible under the condition that they are just and equal".

''Washington yönetimi, askeri gücünü bölgedeki varlığını daha da yaygınlaştırmak için kullanıyor'' diyen Kalhor, bu durumda uzlaşmaya varmalarının söz konusu olamayacağını belirtti.

Kalhor said that "The administration in Washington uses its military force to further spread its presence in the region", and that under this situation it would not be possible to come to an agreement.

Kalhor said that "That the United States throughout its history has not carried out or abided by its agreements is the best proof that it is not trustworthy country in the international community."
