Researcher Kamal Meattle answers my question: how to breathe clean air where you live while still living in the big city
Sunday, March 22, 2009
I wrote two posts here and here mentioning a question I've had for quite some time about what people like us that live in the big city can do about our air quality, and have never been able to find out the exact answer until now. Kamal Meattle on Ted.com gives us the answer in this video:
The three plants you need are:
"The Living Room Plant"
Areca Palm
(Chrysalidocarpus lutescens)
"The Bedroom Plant"
Mother-in-law's Tongue
(Sansevieria trifasciata)
"The Specialist Plant"
Money Plant
(Epipremnum aureum)
I have two of these (sansevieria) where I live, so I'm perhaps about 10% there. Time to go find the others.
