25 April 2009: Model Saturn V to launch today
Saturday, April 25, 2009
It's now Saturday morning (in Asia) and once morning and then afternoon comes around in the United States a model rocket of the Saturn V is going to be launched by a hobbyist. This is a "model" in the sense that it's much smaller than the Saturn V but besides that it's a very real rocket, measuring 10.9 metres and weighing 725 kg, which is a new record for hobby rocketry. The rocket is going to be launched to an altitude of 1.2 km.
If it's successful we'll see a lot more coverage of this flight later on in the day so I'll update the post then when it happens.
