Persian blogger: "Ahmadinejad, are you the president of Iran or Palestine?"
Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Oh snap! This is a short post from a blog in Persian.
Title: Ahmadinejad, are you our president or the president of Palestine? You can see the full text of the speech here.
Text: In Ahmadinejad's speech in Geneva he started out reading a few quotes of prayers and the Koran in Arabic and then talked about Israel and Palestine.
My question is this: Ahmadinejad, why didn't you talk about Iran? Are you our president or a president of the Arabic-speaking country of Palestine?
That seems to be the general tone online as people are by and large fed up with Ahmadinejad's bandying about and talking about subjects unrelated to Iran and the economy. An article here also has the following:
A poll recently showed that his reformist rival, Mir Hossein Mousavi, would beat him easily in the election, and the powerful Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani threw his organisation's support behind the challenger. The election is in less than two months (June 12), and you can just see the hope for change online like this Facebook group of Khatami-Mousavi supporters:
This land is cursed! No one can help us any more! Not even god himself!
