Wednesday, September 16, 2009
This comes from an article here in Spanish.
Starting this year, Spanish will be one of the optional foreign languages in Greek secondary schools, according to the Spanish Embassy in Athens in Greece. Spanish education began in a pilot program in 2006-07 in six Greek schools throughout Greece, with another five added in 2009. The Greek Minister of Education said that the language would be taught when there was a sufficient number of students (12, or 8 in regional or insular schools). According to data given by school directors, 755 students participated in the pilot program last year.
