Latin making huge comeback in UK schools, with a fivefold increase in less than a decade
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
An article here tells of a sharp increase in comprehensives (secondary schools) teaching Latin in the UK from only 100 in 2000 to over 500 now. The country also has a 2011 deadline for schools to make foreign languages compulsory, and some 60 schools have signed up for this with Latin.
Just in case you also want to read the news in Italian or send it to a friend of yours there you can see it here (that's where I stumbled across the news in the first place).
