Commercial Spaceflight Federation's Brett Alexander and Astronaut Leroy Chiao on the White House's new plans for NASA
Tuesday, February 09, 2010
Space.com has a good video here of almost ten minutes in length featuring two interviews done by Miles O'Brien (love the name), one with Brett Alexander and the other with Leroy Chiao (astronaut and also a member on the Augustine Commission). I agree with both of them to a certain extent; Brett Alexander is right about the new possibilities this will bring for private space development, and Leroy Chiao is also right in that it's a pity that the budget wasn't increased by the required $3 billion a year they recommended, but it's still an increase and we'll find out soon enough exactly where NASA will be channeling this new funding as well as the money freed up from the cancellation of Constellation.
