Debate on Space.com about how best to return to the Moon

An article here on Space.com goes over the irony of cancelling a program to return to the Moon (Constellation) right at the time when the Moon has turned out to be much more interesting than many had ever thought. Whether this is true irony or not remains to be seen, of course, since the White House's new plans for NASA may end up giving us the ability to return to the Moon much faster than before if private industry is able to pick up most of the slack.

There are 118 comments so far, most of them filled with blame over who or what is at fault for the US not returning to the Moon and/or properly developing a successor to the Shuttle before its retirement was announced.

On a related note, here's a video from Russia Today about Russia's plans to increase prices after NASA retires the Shuttles. One note: the host is wrong about there being "cuts" to NASA; current plans call for an increase of $1 billion a year. I do agree that NASA isn't a huge priority for the Obama administration though.
