Phonological similarities between Zazaki and Indo-European

I have nothing extra to add to this, but I noticed yesterday that the Wikipedia page on Zazaki has an unexpectedly large amount of information comparing the phonology of Indo-European with Zazaki, Avestan and Persian. Avestan is phonologically closer to Indo-European but it's also long extinct, whereas Zazaki is still spoken in eastern Turkey by a few million people and it seems to be phonologically closer to Indo-European than Persian.

Here's one of the examples found there: wolf is PIE wl̥kʷo-, Avestan vēhrke-, Zazaki varg, and finally Persian gorg (گرگ).

Also rain: PIE awer-, Avestan vār-, Zazaki vārān, and Persian bārān (باران).
