Internetworldstats has updated its top internet languages to June 2010

Today Internetworldstats has finally updated their list of top internet languages, the first time since late 2009. The image above the chart still shows the stats from December 2009, so we can easily compare the change over the past six months.

English: 496 million to 537 million (+41 million, +8.3%)
Chinese: 408 million to 445 million (+37 million, +9.1%)
Spanish: 140 million to 153 million (+13 million, +9.3%)
Japanese: 96 million to 99 million (+3 million, +3%)
Portuguese: 78 million to 83 million (+5 million, +6.4%)
German: 72 million to 75 million (+3 million, +4%)
Arabic: 60 million to 65 million (+5 million, +8.3%)
French: 57 million to 60 million (+3 million, + 5.3%)
Russian: 45 million to 60 million (+15 million, +33.3%)
Korean: 38 million to 39 million (+1 million, +2.6%)

The strangest number there is clearly Russian. What is most likely is that Russian numbers simply haven't been updated all this time, and now that they have been added it looks like a huge increase when it is actually just a fairly large one. I could be wrong on this though as I haven't really paid any attention to efforts Russia is making to increase internet access.
