Take a look at the point made eight minutes into this video:
It's a good point to make for the beginning student, who may not have given much thought to the fact that languages aren't just codes for exact phrases you would otherwise want to express in your native tongue. There is another more scholarly point that languages that share the same linguistic branch could be seen as just different versions of the same thing, but the point of view of the student and the scholar can both exist at the same time without needing to cancel each other out.
