Waiting hall. - The slow and majestic entry of a powerful steamer, assisted by its tugs, is an imposing spectacle that attracts a crowd of onlookers.

The "Norddeutscher Lloyd" is a huge and powerful company, one of the main providers of the prosperity of Germany and its influence around the world. It has 34 shipping lines, affecting North America, South America, Asia, Australia, the islands of Oceania. Its ships carry an average of 600,000 passengers annually.
