Wednesday, February 04, 2009
In case you were wondering where Iran's recently-launched satellite is located, you can see it here. At the moment it's just northeast of South Africa and west of Madagascar, heading towards the northeast:
A few minutes after this screenshot its position is given as follows:
Wed, 04 Feb 2009 07:45:56 GMTLatitude: -19.59° Longitude: 42.89° Right Ascension: 16h 52m 20s Declination: -39° 24' 53'' Azimuth: 251.15° Elevation: -47.17° Altitude [km]: 382.96 Speed [km/s]: 7.4
Omid (امید) means hope, and you can also see the same word as ümit in Turkish.
