List of German loanwords in Bulgarian
Sunday, November 08, 2009
The German Wikipedia has a list of German loanwords in Bulgarian that might be of interest to some readers here. You can see that quite a few of the words come from technical areas, as well as a few chess words in there as well. A lot of the words are also present in Russian. The transcription is a tad different from the actual pronunciation since Bulgarian devoices consonants at the end of a word, and thus a word with a d at the end is actually pronounced as t.
A page from last year is also quite interesting, as it deals with how a lot of Bulgarians choose to have their children learn German as English with its much larger influence and scope is something that is easier to just pick up afterwards, so two birds with one stone. An even better language to choose for this though would be Dutch as it is based on the same principle - since it's harder to find places to use Dutch compared to German then make that one's child's primary foreign language, and then both German and English then become that much easier to learn later on.

Sellamat Dave !
And Sambahsa has absatz, auspuff, bakenbart, kran, bagher, kurort, lanspect, schib, schleif, schtecker, cifferblat.
"chassis" is French.
And many words like benzin, diesel, edelweiss...are already international.
Many words common to Bulgarian and Byzantine Greek or Ottoman Turkish can be found in Sambahsa too.
