I'm Romanian so may I comment? "Recognising" translates as the gerund "recunoscând". However I would use the translation "Recunoașterea (semnelor)".
A note: Î and â have the same pronunciation, but nowadays we use "â" within a word, whereas "î" is used at the beginning or end of a word.

Sure!
It looks like "recunoscins" is a typo in the book, and is also a word that doesn't exist. I'll change that to Recunoaşterea semnelor.
As for î and â, I think I'll have to wait until the book is finished because there's a lot of that to change and I don't want to try doing that myself while typing it up. If you decided to stay around until the book is finished then I could put it up once in its original form (minus any huge errors) and then you could do what you like with the book and then we could upload the improved version, with a link to a site of yours if you like.
It's a pretty long book though so don't feel like you need to.
I'm totally subscribed to your blog, this is how I saw the post. So I'm sticking around.
I can help out with typos if you want. I know there are people out there (1,2?) who want to learn Romanian but can't find content on the web. So I applaud your efforts, truly.
