Discussion on automatic translation turns into discussion on IALs

Here it is.
The discussion is mostly about the EU, going over whether it should make English the official language, go with the top three (English/French/German), keep things the way they are, go with Esperanto/Ido/Interlingua, or return to Latin:
Latin is then best choice of a standard language. It has a totally consistent grammatical structure and spelling. It requires absolutely no punctuation such as exclamation, commas, quotes or question marks. It has no accent marks and only 24 letters. Pronunciation is easy and logical. The grammar with the exception of case is extremely simple. You only need one typeface as well - Roman.
Nothing particularly new in the discussion but I like these discussions nonetheless.
