Agreement between Türkmenistan and Gazprom

Türkmenistan ile Rus Gazprom şirketi, 2009'dan itibaren Türkmen doğalgazını dünya piyasa fiyatından satma konusunda anlaştı. Ancak taraflar miktarı gizli tutuyor.

Turkmenistan and the Russian company Gazprom have agreed on the selling price of Turkmen natural gas in the world market from 2009. However, the sides have kept the amount a secret.

The Turkmen leader Berdimuhammedov invited Gazprom's executive Miller to the Presidential Palace. In the meetings the sides went over the fields of cooperation in natural gas based on the 25-year general agreement the two countries had signed before.

Berdimuhamedov ile Miller, Türkmen gazının satışında pazar piyasa fiyatında anlaşırken, gaz alanında yeni tesislerin kurulması konusunda da mutabakat sağlandı. Buna göre Gazprom, Türkmenistan'da faizsiz kredilendirme şartıyla gaz tesislerini inşa edecek ve gaz yataklarını işletmeye açacak.

Berdimuhammedow and Miller came to an agreement on the selling market price for Turkmen gas, as well as on the subject of new installations used in the field of gas. In accordance with this Gazprom will construct gas installations and will operate gas beds in exchange for interest-free credit in Turkmenistan.

Görüşmede ayrıca, Hazar kıyısı doğalgaz boru hattı projesi ve mevcut boru hattının onarımı konusu da ele alındı. Besides the agreement they also considered the natural gas pipeline project on the shores of the Caspian Sea and the restoration of the existing pipeline. Both sides said that they were ready to speed up the construction of the new pipeline from the shores of the Caspian Sea, and agreed on the pipeline's capacity of 30 billion cubic metres.

Berdimuhamedov, Türkmenistan'ın enerji stratejisine ilişkin düşüncelerini anlatırken, Gazprom'un Türkmenistan'ın stratejik ortağı olduğunu belirtti. Berdimuhammedow explained Turkmenistan's point of view on energy strategy, and that Gazprom is a strategic partner. Gazprom's executive Miller also said that they placed a large importanceon the expansion of cooperation with Turkmenistan, and that they intended to increase the amount of Turkmen gas to be sold.

Turkistan had before in the beginning of 2008 raised the price of natural gas sold by 30% to $130 per 1000 cubic metres. However, this price was then fixed at $150 in the second half of 2008. Also, considering the fluidity of Russia's prices on the world market from 2009, it was made clear that the prices of natural gas would be determined by market principles.
