Rusya'da ulusal yayın yapan İzvestiya Gazetesi ; “Gürcistan'ın son dört yılda savunma bütçesinin 30 kat artmıştır. Türkiye’nin Gürcistan’ın savunma harcamaları için 45 milyon dolar yardımda bulunmuş, ABD’nin de 40.6 milyon dolar hibe etmiştir. Türkiye çok sayıda gelişmiş silah ve mühimmat sağladı. Türkiye'nin Gürcistan'a vereceği silahlar arasında 100 araç, 50 adet PZRK tipi füze rampası, Kılıç 2 ve Doğan savaş gemileri, SkyWatcher hava erken uyarı sistemi, 80 adet MP5 otomatik silah, 1800 M72 el bombası, 10 milyon adet mermi, 160 MP5A3 silahı var” diyerek savaşın sorumlusunun Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ve Türkiye olarak iddia etmiştir.

The magazine Izvestia in a national publication in Russia claimed that the responsibility for the war laid with the United States and Turkey with the following: "In the past four years Georgia's budget has increased by 30 times. Turkey has given 45 million dollars of aid for Georgia's defense expenses, and the United States as well has donated 40.6 million dollars. Turkey provided large numbers of developed weapons and munitions. Of the weapons Turkey is to provide to Georgia we find 100 vehicles, 50 PZRK-type missile launchers, Kılıç 2 and Doğan warships, SkyWatcher early warning system, 80 MP5 automatic weapons, 1800 M72 grenades, 10 million bullets, and 160 MP5A3 weapons.
